LaVonne Marie “Cookie” Furry, 79, died peacefully at Aultman Alliance Hospital on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, due to complications associated with Covid-19. She was born on April 2, 1941 to the late Wilbur and Ilo Hablitzel. After graduating from Timken Senior High School, she worked several years as a manicurist, retiring from P.J.’s Beauty Salon. She was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Harold J. Furry, brother, Kenneth Hablitzel, and granddaughter, Megan (Furry) Middleton.
Lavonne is survived by her three children, Dianne (Clyde) Stryffeler, Denise (Larry) Haupt, and James (Lisa) Furry; grandchildren, Brandon and Lauren Stryffeler, Erik (Emily) Haupt, Ryan (Jessica) Haupt, Morgan Furry (Mark Sampson), and Aaron (Peyton) Furry. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Jonah and Ross Haupt, Willow Haupt, Giabella, Giuliana, and Gracienna Sampson.
The family would like to thank the staff of Canterbury Villa for their care and compassion in the last four years. There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
