Leonard Arthur Malotte, a man with the biggest heart and a genuine love for people, passed away surrounded by those he loves on October 4, 2023, at the age of 74.
Born on August 13, 1949, in Coleman, TX, Leonard grew up embodying the values of kindness, generosity, and faith.
One of Lens’s most cherished qualities was his ability to give big, warm hugs that made everyone feel loved. He had an extraordinary gift for forming connections and was a friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His welcoming spirit and genuine care for others earned him a vast extended friend family, a group together since 1970. His annual canoe trip buddies, which they did for 30 years, friends from time living in Maryland, his church family, the list is vast and wide.
In addition to his warm heart, Len had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and stories (no matter how much they made your groan once he hit the punchline), especially when he had an audience. His laughter was infectious, brightening the lives of those around him and creating joyful memories wherever he went.
He worked hard to provide a good life for his family, trying to ensure their needs were met and their dreams were supported. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and the love he had for them was immeasurable, especially his wife Tina, whom he had been married to for 52 years. Much to the chagrin of his daughters, he still loved to pinch her butt and always told her how beautiful she was and how much he loved her. He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, particularly his grandchildren, his pride and joy, creating lasting memories that will forever remain in their hearts.
Later in life, Len, never passing up the opportunity to talk to an audience, followed in the footsteps of his father, Pastor Charles Malotte, pursued a calling to serve others and became a dedicated pastor, touching the lives of countless individuals with his words of wisdom and comfort at his favorite church, Mantua Center Christian Church.
Len’s time as a Pastor was a beacon of hope and a source of guidance for those seeking solace and faith. His faith in God and his passion for ministry were evident in every aspect of his life. He made a difference in the lives of many through his teachings, prayers, acts of kindness, and infectious sense of humor.
His legacy will be remembered through the countless lives he touched, the love he shared, and the goodness he brought into the lives of those he encountered. Len will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Preceded in death by his father, Charles Malotte, he is survived by his mother, Sue Malotte; brothers, Kevin and Cameron Malotte. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Tina Malotte; daughters, Carrie Malotte, Dana Malotte and Lisa Fedele; and 8 grandchildren, Keeley Leising, Sienna Leising, Avery Malotte, Cyrus Morrison, Flynn Sinchak, Zach Fedele, Zara Fedele, and Zoey Fedele.
Our family was one of love, not blood and there are so many more that Len loved and as they loved him back.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mantua Center Christian Church, 4118 OH-82, Mantua, OH 44255 or Hospice of Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192/donate@hospicewr.org.
