October 18, 1946 – November 14, 2019
We celebrate the life of Madeline Soupios who passed from this world on November 14, 2019. A graduate of Helene Fuld School of Nursing, Madeline followed in the footsteps of her mother and from graduation for the next two years served on active duty in the US Navy as a Lieutenant, and Nurse, during the Vietnam war.
Eventually settling in Cleveland, Madeline worked as head nurse of the intensive care unit for the Cleveland Clinic for over twenty years. Eventually retiring from the clinic in 2017, Madeline was given a “Lifetime Achievement Award” for her many years of dedication and outstanding service to the clinic and those she served.
True to her nature, always positive and outgoing, Madeline was a kind, loving and compassionate person. She not only served tirelessly as a nurse in a profession that she loved but in her spare time worked at Cleveland’s food bank, parceling food for those in need. Madeline was best known by her friends and family for her wonderful sense of humor, her generous and compassionate heart, and her excellent skills as a nurse.
She loved animals, history, and the arts: the visual arts and theater, especially. She loved Cleveland Theatre and often attended local performances with friends. She is survived by her youngest sister, Nancy Soupios, her niece, Alicia Bathauer, her nephews, Matt and Darren Green; Michael, Jimmy, Alfred, and Constantine Soupios. She is also survived by four great nieces and three great nephews.
Dearest Madeline, you will be greatly missed. Your presence made this world a better place. Go with love!
