Margaret Mary McCune (nee: Hernon)

February 9, 1947 – August 3, 2022

Peggy passed away surrounded by her loving family on August 3rd, 2022 at Holy Family Hospice.  Born in Boston, MA. on February 9th, 1947 to Martin and Elizabeth Hernon.   She was the oldest of 6 siblings, Jean, Joe (deceased), Franny, Elaine and Tommy.  Peggy married the love of her life Francis Charles McCune, Jr. on 08/02/1965 and they lived a military lifestyle, traveling the east coast and finally settling in Ohio. They had 3 children and went on to have 4 granddaughters.

She will be best remembered for her quick wit and razor-sharp tongue, creative vocabulary, her ability to obtain anything for a nickel, love of a good bargain (even if expired).  She will also be remembered for her tremendous love for her family and her willingness to help whenever and however she could.  Her loss has left a heaviness and hole in our hearts but she will never be forgotten.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Francis Jr. and her son Francis, III; and brother Joe.   Left to cherish her memory are her children Mary and Patrick (Suzie), daughter-in-law Angela; grandchildren Izabella, Emilee, Ava and Eden; and many other family and friends.

There will be a celebration of Peggy’s life on Wednesday, August 17

, 2022 at 2:15 PM at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery; where she will be laid to rest along side her husband.
