Margaret Ann Reardon (Hope) age 83, of Middleburg Heights passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2023. She was born on August 17, 1939, in Lakewood, Ohio, to the late William and Rebecca (Wertman) Hope. Margaret is a 1957 graduate of Columbia High School and lived her life in Northeast Ohio.
Margaret believed in giving back to her community. A tradition of giving that started in the Olmsted Falls School system in the 1960’s, Margaret performed vision screenings for pre-K and K level children. Later she volunteered many afternoons teaching intercity students how to read.
Margaret worked numerous jobs in her lifetime, including managing the lunch counter at Woolworth and dispatching for the Ohio Turnpike Commission. Additionally, after raising her children, she took courses at Tri-C and landed a position at the Women’s City Club of Cleveland which led to other opportunities. She finished her career as the Administrative VP for Sterling Mfg. in Cleveland.
Margaret was a devoted disciple of Christ, deeply involved in her church, and a missionary in Mexico.
While Jesus was the light of her life, her only grandchild, Tyler, was her joy. Margaret and Tyler shared many adventures together, including travel, theater, and theme parks.
After surviving a devastating illness in 2008, Margaret lived by the motto “never ever give up”. She is a member of the Red Hat Society and is known by the monicker Madam Miraculous.
We, her family, take comfort in knowing that she has received new life through her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We would like to thank the many friends and family who have assisted and supported Margaret these past few years. Your help was essential for maintaining her independence.
Margaret is preceded in death by Robert B. Reardon, Danial Neubauer, Gordon Berr, William J. Hope III, Marie Haley and Juanita (Wendy) Polomsky.
She is survived by her son, Robert Scott Reardon; daughter, Sharron (Shari) Williams; three sisters, Esther Mitchell, Beverly Scherzinger, Lynnea Berr; grandson, Tyler Dennis and many nieces and nephews.
