Marilyn Bankhurst (nee Dunch) passed away peacefully on July 27, 2020 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Marilyn was born on January 28, 1944 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Anne and Julius Dunch. She graduated from John Adams High School and worked as a secretary in the real estate industry before becoming a full-time wife, mother, and homemaker. She married the love of her life, Howard, in 1975 and they started their new life together in Hudson, Ohio. She and Howard raised their children, John and Jane in Hudson, where she lived until her passing. Marilyn loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was an excellent cook and host and was very active in many ministries at Christ Church Episcopal and a dedicated volunteer for the Hudson City Schools.
She was predeceased by her parents and dear sister Linda.
Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband, Howard; son, John (Ryan Kin); daughter, Jane (Glenn) McMullen; and her grandchildren, Reid and Sloane, whom she cherished. She is also survived by her sister, Justina Ginter; brother, Julius (Debbie) Dunch; brother-in-law, Arthur (Lois) Bankhurst; many nieces and nephews, cousins, and several long-time dear friends.
Due to the pandemic, a private memorial service will be held. Marilyn had a great passion for flowers, and to honor her life, contributions may be made in her memory to Christ Church Episcopal Memorial Garden Fund, 21 Aurora, Hudson, Ohio 44236.
