Mark Patrick Goodwin

June 29, 1957 — August 8, 2024

Mark Patrick Goodwin, age 67, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Community Hospice Truman House after an extended illness. He was born on June 29, 1957, to Jack Goodwin and K. Joyce Goodwin (Maloney) in Dover.

Mark’s life was filled with simple joys and a deep love for his family. His favorite hobbies included following all Ohio sports, watching his sons play baseball, socializing with friends and listening to music, which brought him immense happiness. 

He attended New Philadelphia High School graduating in the class of 1975. After high school he ventured to California, then to Texas before settling back in Ohio. He worked most of his career at Fisher Flooring in New Philadelphia. 

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Goodwin (McKinney); three sons, Mark T. Goodwin, Nicholas (Nick) Goodwin, and Nathan Goodwin; stepdaughter Rebecca Zacker; three brothers Tim (Wendy) Goodwin, Michael (Amanda) Goodwin, Matthew (Deb) Goodwin; mother, K. Joyce Goodwin; and nieces and nephews along with numerous friends and his buddy, Earl (his bird).

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack.

Per Mark’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life and Benefit will be held at Bud and Tooties in New Philadelphia on Saturday, September 14, 2024, beginning at 2:00pm. Services were provided by Heritage Cremation & Burial Society.
