Mark Britt Haas, age 70, Coffee Guru, of South Euclid, OH peacefully passed away in his home at 11:42 am, on March 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family as he took his last breath. Mark was born in Uniontown, PA on September 3, 1953. He was preceded in death in July of 2021 by his doting mother, Mary Margaret (Marge) Beard (nee Britt). For 47 years, Mark was the dearly beloved husband and the forever sweetheart to the love of his life, Patricia (nee Simmons). He was an ever-present, supportive, dedicated, loving dad to his two daughters, Fay and Carey. Mark was the most incredible, generous, fun Papa to his two grandsons, Forrest and Flint. He will be deeply missed by his dear older brothers, Edward (Deona) and Patrick (Alison). Mark was a favorite uncle to many, as he always made certain that family gatherings and trips were geared towards the children and he ensured they were laughing and doing fun activities. He will also be forever missed by scores of loving cousins, who have fond memories of him. Mark was an adventurous soul who was afraid of heights yet still managed to sky dive before he became a dad. He forever rejected using GPS when traveling because he loved the challenge of figuring out new places. He was a paper map man through and through. Mark had a great love for the outdoors. He found solace and relaxation in working in his yard and blew all visitors away with how immaculate and beautiful he made the outdoor living space. In the early 2000's Mark developed a deep passion for camping, whitewater rafting and hiking and spent the next 20 years taking family members on countless fun adventures. Mark was a savvy businessman who became the president of Medallion Coffee Service, Inc. in 1980. He successfully ran Medallion until he was forced to permanently close the doors in January of 2023, due to his cancer diagnosis in July of 2022. Mark’s charismatic personality, along with his sense of humor and ability to lighten a tense situation with his quick wit and lightheartedness will forever be a part of his legacy. He was an infamous storyteller and would delight his lucky listeners with loads of hilarious tales about his life-long jokester ways. Mark was known for his passion for music and generously shared his music with those he loved. Thousands of different songs will forever make countless people think of him. Mark was a generous man and always helped those around him who were in need. He put his family first in every way possible. Mark will be remembered for his strength and resilience and will forever be revered, treasured, cherished and sorely missed.
We will be reaching out to family and friends when we have a date in late spring to celebrate Mark’s life. We are grateful for and truly appreciate all the never ending love and support we have received as we navigate this devastating loss.
