Marlene Ethel Russell, 80, fell asleep in death Monday, May 14, at her home in Dover, Ohio surrounded by her family. Marlene was the daughter of the late William C and Minnie Johns and a 1956 graduate of Massillon Washington High School.
Marlene is survived by her husband, Fred, whom she married June 30, 1956 and her daughters, Christine Charnetzky of Youngstown and Marcia (James) Hines of New Philadelphia, grandchildren; Michael (Amy), Nathan (Sarah), Matt (Heather) LaFollette of Windber, PA, Krista Russell of Canton, Heather (Tyler) Lyons of Louisville, Stacy Wilson of Crooksville, Torrie and Taylor Hines of New Philadelphia. nine great grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and cousins. All of whom loved her very much and look forward to seeing her again in the paradise earth that Jehovah has promised (Rev. 21:3,4).
She was preceded in death by not only her parents but also her three siblings, William R Johns, Gerald Johns and Louise Sellman, her son, Stephen Russell and great granddaughter, Kaidyn LaFollette.
Marlene was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended New Philadelphia North Congregation. She exerted herself vigorously in serving Jehovah to the very best of her ability. Doing so faithfully from her baptism in 1950 until her death.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 3:00 pm with visitation prior at the Kingdom Hall, 1212 Kelly St. NW, New Philadelphia. Services officiated by Kenneth Sellman. Heritage Cremation Society is handling the cremation.
