On March 31, 2022, Marlene Nagle went to be with the Lord and reunite with her loved ones that preceded her. Born in Casselman, PA on March 12, 1933 to the late Charles and Florence (Putman) Peters, she lived across the United States and Puerto Rico as an Air Force brat. She was president of the Women’s Club, member of the Norton Ohio Historical Society, founding member of the Rockwood Historical Society, member of the Cerebral Palsy Foundation and St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She graduated from Rockwood area high school and later from Slippery Rock University with a master’s degree in education. Marlene was a Girl Scout leader and organized Rockwood Junior Legion baseball. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being around children, (especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren), loved painting, music, reading and telling stories, watching Big Brother, Survivor and Game of Thrones, and working on family ancestry and local history. Marlene also published a family and friends’ cookbook.
In addition to her parents, Marlene is preceded in death by her daughter, Lanie (Nagle) Goris and granddaughter, Georgia Nagle (daughter of Eric and Tracy).
She leaves behind her sons, Eric (Tracy) Nagle of Nanty Glo, PA and Karl Nagle of Norton, Ohio; son-in-law, Douglas Goris of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Trisha Goris of Lansing, MI., Joseph (Samantha) Goris of Lansing, MI., Patrick (Emily) of Texas, Lauren (Patrick Patton) Nagle of Akron, OH., Garrent Nagle of Nancy Glo, PA.; great-grandchildren, Landen Hart, Lawsyn Varney, Maebelle Nagle, Eila Nagle, Sawyer Nagle, Finley Nagle, Olive Goris, Riley Goris, Adelaide Patton-Nagle, Isabelle Patton, Jameson Patton and Charlotte Patton; and dear friend, Beth Huhn of Markleton, PA.
A Memorial Service will be held July 16

, 2022 11:00a.m. at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Rockwood followed by a light lunch at the Rockwood Historical Society. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Rockwood History Society.
