Melvin “Jay” Joseph Fellhoelter, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Hospital, Medina, Ohio. Born April 1, 1944, in Quinter, Kansas to Herman and Odella Comeau.

He joined the US Navy in 1962. He received the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, two Navy Battle “E”’s from the USS Portland LSD37, Navy Achievement Medal, Humanitarian Serve Medal and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. He retired in 1982 from the US Navy. He found his forever home in Medina Ohio when he went to work with Mark Controls as an Electrical engineer, He retired as a Field Supervisor with Magnetech in 2015. While working a full-time job and raising his family, he started J&L Computer Service, he loved to build and learn all he could in the computer world, staying on top of all the latest gadgets and gizmos.

While stationed in Holy Loch, Scotland, he met the love of his life, Elizabeth. They were married June 7, 1968, and enjoyed 54 years together before her passing in November 2022, while our heart is broken here on earth, his is whole again after being reunited with his Scottish Queen.

After moving to Medina, he loved to cheer on the Cleveland Indians and Browns. He cheered our “Bowl Bound” Browns in the 80’s, even braved the winter weather to attend the playoff games at Municipal Stadium. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, even when there were many empty seats at municipal stadium. It made the sold-out games at The Jake, that much more exciting. He made sure his family all inherited his love of local sports.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Medina and enjoyed many of the congregation’s activities. Poker Night, Pancake Suppers, and his favorite was their annual Oktoberfest celebration.
