Melvin “Shaky” Nye

Melvin “Shaky” Nye age 68 and longtime resident of Deerfield, Ohio, went to be with his Lord on December 3, 2020. Shaky was a truck driver for about 18 years.  He enjoyed country music and attending county fairs. After leaving the trucking industry, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle while spreading the word of God.  He served as president of God’s Chosen Christian Motorcycle Ministry.

Melvin leaves behind his loving wife of 27 years, Michelle Nye; daughter, Melanie Prosser of Florida; 2 beautiful granddaughters also of Florida; and a young man who Melvin considered his son, Russell Martin, of Bedford, Ohio.

Melvin is preceded in death by his father, Mervin Nye and his mother, Francis Ann Moore.

Due to Covid concerns for those we love, there will be no services.  Donations to offset cremation costs can be directed to his wife, Michelle. Condolences and special memories can be shared with the family online at
