Michael “Mike” Cletus Dowey

Michael “Mike” Cletus Dowey, 66 of Akron, Ohio passed away in his home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Mike was born January 2, 1955, in Akron, Ohio to Jack and Margaret Louise (Lehmier) Dowey. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1973 and was a lifelong resident of Springfield Township. Mike enjoyed many years of coaching “The Rockets” at Frayley Field, jamming out to Rock N Roll and spending his time working in the outdoors. He will be forever remembered for his generous heart, and his Bob Segar like singing voice.

Mike is survived by his three children; Dena (Kevin) Lancaster of Warsaw, IN, Kristen aka

(Justin) Olesky of Brimfield, OH and Ryan “

Buck Wheat

” Dowey of Akron, OH; and his grandchildren; Michael, Kendra, Dallas, Aiden, Kailynn and Phoenix.
