Nancy J Weber

Canton – Nancy J Weber, age 91, entered the Church Triumphant, joining her husband Tom on September 24, 2024. She was born April 11, 1933 to parents Meredith Whitmer and Jack Alspaugh in Canton. She and her husband Tom owned Studer’s Sporting Goods with stores in Canton, Massillon, Akron and Steubenville. Nancy was a member of St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church, Line and Design Garden Club, the Junior League of Canton Ohio, the Women’s Board of Aultman Hospital and Brookside Country Club.

Nancy met the love of her life, Tom, at McKinley High School where he was a football star and she was the football queen. They were married in December 1951 and cherished 56 years of marriage. She loved to have family gatherings, cook gourmet meals and entertain friends. 

She is survived by sister Cindy (Ron) Miller, brothers Jack Alspaugh, Mike (Linda) Alspaugh and Bill (Patty) Alspaugh, along with children John (Teri) Weber, Andy (JoAnn) Weber, and Tom (Megan) Weber, grandsons Wade (Mandy) Weber, Troy (Jamie) Weber, Whitney (Nick) Brown, David Weber, Mandy Weber, and six great grandsons with another on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents Jack and Meredith, step father Walter Whitmer, husband Tom and son Jeff Weber.

Nancy and Tom requested that their ashes be spread together on the beaches of Coronado, California.

Nancy’s family is eternally grateful to the Canton Regency for the compassionate care given to Mom for seven years. Care givers at the Regency said she always had a smile on her face and treated them kindly. We also are thankful for Southern Care Hospice, in particular Olivia Brunner, for the love and compassion given in her last months.

She was loved by her family and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life service will be at held at St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church, on November 16, 3 pm. A reception at John and Teri Weber’s house will follow.
