Nina Ludy

January 3, 1935 — July 28, 2023

Dover

Nina Jean Ludy  passed away July 28, 2023. She was born January 3, 1935 to the late Alfred and Freda (Benson) Jones. She graduated from Dover High School in 1953 and married her husband Melvin in 1954, who preceded her in death 2021.

Affectionately known as “Grandma Nina”, she loved her family and friends. She always ended a phone call with, “I love you very, very, very much!” She was very hospitable and well known as a great cook. Melvin and Nina were known for having many friends and family into their home to make homemade pretzels on their cookstove and enjoy their player piano. Most of all, Nina and Melvin were known for their devotion to their God, Jehovah. Well known in the community as Jehovah’s Witnesses, they helped many to come to know and serve God and become part of their family.

Nina leaves behind three children, Melvin (Cindy) Ludy, Yvonne (Dave) Brader, Heidi (Roger) Lawver;  four grandchildren, Sherry (Bill) McConnell, Joleen (Oscar) Ramirez, Timothy (Nicole) Ludy, and Laura (Ben) VanWormer; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and sister, Ruth Ann Ray.

In addition to her husband and parents, Nina is preceded in death by three brothers, Bob, Paul, and Chuck Jones.
