Born April 21, 1961, Orest Macina, 57, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2018 surrounded by family. He is survived by his wife, Amy (nee Haveneth), mothe- in-law, Kathryn Haveneth, sisters-in-law, Lisa Haveneth, Ellen (Dan) Rogers, and Linda Duke, brother, Reza Honarvar, nieces Laura (Sean) Breyley, Katie Rogers, Danielle Rogers, nephews George (Lauren) Duke, James Duke, special friends Kraig Dexter, Malcolm Poole, Katelyn Rottinger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Omelan and Irene Macina and father-in-law. Walter Haveneth.
Orest earned his PhD in chemistry from Case Western Reserve University and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for many years. He was an author, a photographer and patent holder. He had a passion for car racing and soccer. Orest loved his wife, his dog Lev and his family.
Friends will be received at 11 am at Holy Family Hospice Chapel 6707 State Rd., Parma, OH 44134 followed by a celebration of life mass at 12 pm on December 31.
