Otto Jung, 60, of Parma Heights, Ohio passed away October 15, 2021.
Preceded in death by his parents Erno Jung and Terezia Jung-Rabensteiner (nee Pinezits).
Loving husband for 28 years to Joan (nee Sholtis) and beloved father to Alexander. Brother of
Catherine (Peter) Smyth. Brother-in-law to Barbara (George) Cimbalos, William Jr. (Caren) Sholtis, and
Scott (Erin) Sholtis. Beloved son-in-law to Janice and the late William Sholtis Sr. Uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. With an extended family in Hungary.
Otto was an active Journeyman/Carpenter for the IKORCC Local #435 25+ years. When he wasn’t constructing something at work he was remodeling something at home. But not without the help of Alex or myself. He would always say, “this is your house too”. We thought that meant we had an opinion. It meant we learned how every tool was used and how to get dirty. We didn’t mind. I also have a crafty side. That’s probably why were such a good match. We remodeled a beautiful home together.
Otto enjoyed cooking. In fact, it’s how we met. He said it was relaxing; his outlet. HE WAS DAMN GOOD AT IT TOO! In the summer it was grilling. We will miss the delicious Hungarian cuisine. He made some of the best lecso, porkolt, rakott krumpli, and can’t leave out the paprikash. He taught us how to make them but it won’t be the same.
Otto’s other passion in life was music, which he instilled into Alex. He played many instruments but his go to was bass guitar. He and Alex spent countless days and nights talking music, watching Youtube, watching DVD videos of their favorite bands, documentaries, or just jamming in the basement. Alex even got us to go to a couple of concerts.
Most people will remember Otto for his elaborate, comical stories. He sure could tell them. That is how he would want to be remembered most.
At Otto’s request, there will be no funeral service.
Family to hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
