Patricia Ann Boris (Nee Garver)

Patricia Ann Boris (nee Garver) passed away on November 3, 2020. She was born December 30, 1930 in Wayne County, Ohio. She grew up in the small town of Wadsworth, Ohio, and graduated from Central School in 1948. She attended Kent State University and was an active member of the Delta Zeta sorority. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1952, she worked at Sterling-Linder-Davis in Cleveland where she met the love of her life, Tony and married on June 12, 1954. They spent 36 years raising their family together. A devout Byzantine Catholic, Patricia was a member of St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church on Buckeye Road and Solon, then later St. Stephen’s (Holy Resurrection) in Euclid.  She loved her job assisting students with disabilities in the Cleveland Schools for over 25 years. Patricia was a lifelong sports fan and was passionate about the Indians, Browns, and Cavs. She was a lover of cats and all pets, a skilled quilter, a proud and devoted mother, grandmother, and a great friend to many. Her positive attitude and love of life will be missed by all who knew her, and she will live on in our hearts.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Boris and son, Michael J. Boris.

She is survived by her sons, Anthony (Diane) Wynshaw-Boris, John (Laura Chukayne) Boris, Thomas (Irene Lunney) Boris; daughters, Barbara (Timothy) Loya; Ruthie (David Kirbish) Boris; and grandchildren, Michael A. (Christina Wright) Boris, Amalia (David) Boris Miller, Anthony J. Boris, and Elijah Loya.

Private services were held for the family and Patricia will be laid to rest in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio. Arrangements were at the direction of the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home & Crematory. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the charity of your choice in Patricia’s honor.
