Patricia Ann Thomas, age 73, of Canton, passed away on January 15 at Aultman Hospital after a brief illness caused by a breakthrough Covid – 19 infection. Thomas R. Thomas, her devoted husband of 53 years, was at her side when her soul returned to Heaven. She had accepted Christ as her savior and was a member of Canton Crossroads UMC.
Patti was the eldest and only daughter of the late James and Wanda Wottle. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1966 and married Tommy on February 10, 1968. Patti worked at the Timken Company after high school until their two children, Shawn and Melanie, were born. When the kids were older, she enrolled at Stark Tech, earned a degree in Computer Aided Design and returned to work at the Timken Company on their product engineering department for many years.
Patti was a talented painter and calligrapher. She enjoyed camping, family vacations, Motown music, gardening, reading, and laughing with her lifelong best friend Loretta Hawk. She loved her grandkids dearly, would babysit them often and invented a drink concoction for them called “grandma punch”.
Patti will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind; her husband, Tommy, their two children, Shawn and Melanie; their grandchildren, Jacob, Abigail and Sophia; brothers, David (Jan) Wottle, Eric (Sue) Wottle, Tim (Dawn) Wottle, James (Iva) Wottle; her aunt, Donna Smith; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Plans for a celebration of life will be shared with family and friends at a future date. Donations in her memory can be made to Crossroads UMC, 120 Cleveland Ave SW, Canton, OH 44702 or
