Pauline Raupers (Brouillette), age 83, of Avon Ohio, went to be with our Lord and Savior peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the Cleveland Clinic, Avon, Ohio. Over her last days she was surrounded and comforted with an outpouring of love from family and friends.
Pauline was born in Worcester Massachusetts on August 30, 1941, the daughter of Albert and Ellen Brouillette. Pauline graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester MA in 1960. She worked various jobs as a personal assistant and an administrative assistant for multiple companies to include Zurn Industries. She retired from a job she loved as the purchasing buyer for the City of Boca Raton, Florida. In high school, she was a lover of music and marched with the band in the color guard and later joined her son Bruce at professional drum corps shows. She always loved jumping on the dance floor and was known to wear out her dancing partners.
Polly lit up the room wherever she went. No matter the mood, she put a smile on your face with her cheerful greeting. She loved living in Florida, eating near the beach and boating on the intercoastal and the Atlantic Ocean. Known for her sympathy and empathy, she was always available to listen and then when appropriate, offer measured advice or provide delicate words of wisdom. Over the past few years, she found an addition to her family that she loved dearly at Rose Senior Living. She enjoyed all her friends while attending supper, going to local events, and traveling on trips with the Rose Senior Living gang to the VFW. Although a die-hard Patriots and Dolphins fan, she adopted the Cleveland Guardians and even the Cleveland Browns against the advice of her two Steelers loving sons. She was renowned for her Boston accent where people would coerce her to say words that had the letter “R”; car (caw), horse (hauss), park (pawk).
She is survived by her three children, Bruce Desautels, Donna Reuter, and Steven Desautels. Polly also celebrated life with her 11 grandchildren: Alexa, Kyle, Lucas, Chase, Shane, Chelsea, Alexandra, Danielle, Logan, Connor, Tyler, and 4 great-grandchildren: Anjolina, Gracie, Genesis, and Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Raupers. She shared many fond memories with her brothers and sisters: Francis (Timmy), Mark, Frederick, Lois, Jane, Patricia, and Laura. She will also be missed by her companion, roommate and favorite canary, Buddy.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 1:30PM at Rose Senior Living, 33200 Health Campus Blvd, Avon, OH 44011. Condolences and special memories of Polly can be shared with her family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
