Retired Major Angelo J. Cassaro passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, at the age of 103. He was born on April 22, 1921, and lived a long and meaningful life. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor (nee Acquarone), Marion (nee Kluter); predeceased by his brothers Chuck (Rose), James (Florence) and sister Christine Paternite (nee Cassaro SAM) and his son, Alan Cassaro. He is survived by his daughter, Susan Cassaro; daughter-in-law Clara Cassaro; his nieces, Mary Jean Paternite (Ed Thall) and Roseanne Terrano (Sal); his nephews, Frank (Bev, deceased), Steven (Judy), and Salvatore Jr. (Vilma) Paternite; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Angelo was a WWII and Korean War veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, and retired as a Major after 20 years of service. He was stationed in many countries including Germany, the Philippines, and South Korea. He was also stationed throughout the U.S. in Hawaii, Massachusetts, and Oklahoma. Angelo worked in real estate after retiring from the service and also served many years as the General Manager of the Palm Beach Kennel Club. He enjoyed playing Texas Hold 'Em, was an avid golfer for many years, and even won a Seniors Tournament at the age of 85.
He will be laid to rest 1:15pm April 3rd 2025 at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd Seville Ohio.
