Richard Frank Molodec (“Ricky”), age 71 passed away peacefully on January 13, 2023. Richard was born on August 28, 1951.
Richard touched so many lives, the minute you met him you fell in love with his kindness and generosity. He loved to sing his “oldies” and listen to hymns/gospels from Elvis Presley. He was an amazing cook and always had special recipes the entire family tried to recreate on their own. Richard was a great baseball player in his younger years, and later used his baseball knowledge to coach his daughter’s softball team for many years. He loved to play and watch golf, as well as he also enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, Indians/Guardians, and Cavaliers play no matter how bad they were. He would always say “the best seat for the game was at home, watching on TV”. He loved his birds and various critters he would feed behind his house every day. One of his favorite hobbies however was going to the casino and playing the slot machines. He never won big, but would always say “go with money you are willing to lose”. Richard was always the voice of knowledge and the person others sought out for advice. He was best known in the family for his duet with his late cousin Karen singing “I Got You Babe”.
Richard dedicated his life to sales in the printing industry for over 50 years where he always kept a great relationship with his clients. He later retired from Galley Printing in December of 2022.
Richard was preceded in death by his father Joseph and his mother Eleanor. His father-in-law Edward and mother-in-law Dorothy Glodack.
Richard is survived by his sweet, loving, and caring wife Janet Molodec (nee Glodack) with whom he shared 48 beautiful years of marriage, and his children, Dawn Diaz (nee Molodec), Shannon Barnhardt (nee Molodec), and Jason. Forever cherished and remembered by his five grandchildren, D’Mitri, Jordan, Madison, Logan, and Joseph. Grateful and loved by his sons-in-law Tony, Mathew, and daughter-in-law Nicole (nee Calvey). He will always be loved by his older brother Dave, his daughter Tina, his son-in-law Frank, and their daughter Ciera. A true and beloved friend to his brother-in-law Kenny, sister-in-law Judy, and her husband and his “homie” Steve.
There will not be services held for Richard per his request. A “Celebration of Life” for Richard will be announced at a later date. The family requests at that date you come to enjoy and share the life of Ricky, as he would have wanted everyone to have fun and remember him for who he was.
