It is with heavy hearts that the family of Richard Henry Kotrlik, Jr., 74 of Mantua, Ohio announces his passing on Friday, October 20th after a courageous year long struggle with oral cancer. He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Kim Kotrlik Albert (Brian), grandchildren, Alex (Cali) and Brooke Albert, and his constant canine companion, Rosie. As a beloved brother, he also leaves behind Gayle (Jim) Moore, Joyce (Dean) Gatto, Dale Kotrlik, Cheryl (Don) Shields, and Lauren (Anthony) Brancazio. He was preceded in death by his devoted mother, Ruth Lund, stepfather, Joseph Lund, father, Richard Kotrlik, Sr., and brother, Gary Kotrlik (Jeff). He was a dear uncle and great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Richard was a 1967 graduate of Aurora High School and soon after, attended Michigan State University. Until recent months, he enjoyed a simple life as an avid Cleveland Browns, Indians, and OSU fan and worked as a dedicated, long-time groundskeeper at Signature of Solon and previously, Aurora Country Club. He was fortunately able to remain in his home caring for Rosie until his passing. He always made a point of reminding his family of his love while he was with them, and they will carry their love for him in their hearts forever. Rest in peace and Godspeed, our dear Richard. May angels wrap their arms around you to carry you home. You are so deeply missed.
