Richard Neumann, age 93, of Fairview Park, went home to be with Jesus on February 8, 2025.

Richard leaves behind his three children, Craig (Shari) Neumann, Kurt (Beth) Neumann, and Laura Damiano. Richard also has six grandchildren (Wayne, Macie, Olivia, Alexis, Luke, and Hannah).

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Biggs Neumann, his sister, LaVerne (James) Kubik, and his two brothers, Arthur (Grace) Neumann and Donald Neumann.

Richard grew up in the neighborhood of W.95th and Lorain Road where his father owned and operated a hardware store for many years. Richard graduated from West Tech High School. He was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Richard’s primary occupation during his adult life was serving in the Cleveland Fire Department. He retired as a Lieutenant, and had worked at a number of different fire stations in the City of Cleveland during his long career. He thoroughly enjoyed being a fireman, and was especially fond of his Fire Department comrades. Richard also worked for many years as a meat cutter which is what he did on his days off from the Fire Department. Richard spent his life loving and providing for his family, and giving back to others. In his younger days, he enjoyed camping, working out at the Omni Gym, playing cards (especially Bridge), and reading the Plain Dealer.

During his lifetime, Richard was an exceptionally dependable and faithful person. If he said it, you could count on it. He was known as “Pops” to his children and as “Super Gramps” to his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and especially by his family.

Condolences and special memories of Richard can be shared with his family online at www.heritageremationsociety.com
