Richard A. Porter

Richard A Porter, Rick of Aurora passed away peacefully November 26, 2024 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina with his family by his side. Rick was born August 19, 1948 to Merrill and Garnet Starcher Porter (deceased) but grew up in Stow, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Margaret son Shawn (Lillian) Porter of Canton and daughter, Dawn (Marcus) Bowen of Akron. Also survived by granddaughter, Savanna and grandson, Rowan Porter.

Rick was one of eight children brothers, Merrill(Donna) Porter of Washington State deceased and Kevin (deceased) Edward (Anita) Steve (Cathy) Michael (Roberta) and two sisters, Karen Methaney (Dale) and Heather (Jim) Hillyer.

Rick retired after working 35 years for Saint Gobain in Aurora. He was a Telstar operator building bundles for offshore drilling. He was also an Army Veteran.

Honoring Rick’s wishes cremation had taken place and graveside services will be held at North Lawn Memorial cemetery. Condolences and special memories of Rick can be shared with his family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com.
