Richard Elmo Sauser

Richard “Elmo” Sauser, 98 passed away December 26, 2024. He served in the US Army during World War II and later graduated from Kent State University. He was later employed by Hastings Manufacturing Company for many years. Richard was a lifelong resident of Portage Lakes and treasured his days on the water sailing and boating with friends and family. 

Predeceased by his wonderful wife of 33 years, Laurel “Lolly”.

Richard is survived by three lovely daughters, Lora Avens, Karla (Randey Richards) and Lisa (Chuck, Amy, Wes) Ayers; nephew, Joe (Beverly) Reiman; niece, Robin (Max) Reiman. 

Cremation will take place, and a private memorial wake will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Akron Canton Food Bank. Condolences and special memories of Richard can be shared with his family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
