Rick Siman, 69, passed away suddenly Thursday, June 23, 2022, at The Cleveland Clinic. Born on June 5, 1953, in Youngstown, he was the son of the late Richard and Beverly Siman. He graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School and attended Ohio State University and Youngstown University.
Rick worked as a foreman in various steel plants for many years, but his passion was connecting with people. He taught roller skating lessons, coached many little league softball and baseball teams, and was always the first to welcome people into his home for a big Sunday breakfast or drink. He had an absolute zest for life and a knack for making people feel special. If you needed encouragement, he was the guy to remind you that you’re a rockstar. And if you needed someone to call a company and right a wrong, Rick was more than happy to do so—ending up with a friend on the other end of the line. He touched many lives with his quick wit, upbeat personality, and understanding toward others. He got a kick out of his daughter challenging him on his political views, and his grandson’s spirited personality made him beam. He loved playing cards with his brother and watching The Browns and Guardians games with his sister.
He will be missed dearly by his daughter Samantha (Kenny Dieglio) Siman; grandson Julian Dieglio; siblings, Heidi Siman, and Randall Siman; and many other friends and family members.
Celebration of life to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to honor Rick’s love for animals and donate to Animal Charity of Ohio (
