Robert B. Baker, a lifelong resident of the Akron area, passed away December 28, 2022. Born in Akron, Ohio May 3, 1929 to Horace R. and Helen B. Baker, he lived in the community of Bath for more than 50 years. Bob attended Akron Public Schools, Georgetown University of Foreign Service in Washington, DC and received a BA degree from the University of Akron in 1952. Immediately upon graduation he entered the military service for an enlistment of 3 years. During that time, he served as a psychological warfare officer in the Korean War and later as a plans-staff officer at Army Headquarters far east in Tokyo, Japan. Upon leaving the military service he returned to Akron and entered the real estate business. He was the founder and owner of Baker Realty Company, which he operated for more than 40 years.
Bob was preceded in death by his brother Horace of Shelburne, Vermont and Michael of Hudson, Ohio.
He is survived by his brother, David of Akron and his loving wife, Leila H. Baker, along with many nieces and nephews.
