Robert (Bob) A Carlisle, 73, of New Philadelphia went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, at Hennis Care Center of Dover, following a courageous battle with cancer. 

Born December 3rd, 1950, in Dover, Ohio of the late Robert and Martha (Scott) Carlisle.  Bob was a lifelong resident of New Philadelphia where he graduated high school in 1969.  He proudly served in the United States Navy for 4 years before spending the next 41 years working for Stone Container. 

On September 6th, 1974, Bob married the love of his life, Judith (Griffiths) Carlisle, and they shared a loving marriage of 49 years.  This September they would have celebrated 50 years together which Bob was so proud of.  Over the years Bob enjoyed coaching his daughter’s softball teams and attending all their school and sports functions.  When he wasn’t busy cheering them on, he enjoyed playing cards with friends, taking drives with Judy, and visiting his friends at Marty’s Coaches Corner in New Philadelphia.  He loved spending time with his family especially his grandson Jamison, who brought him so much joy. 

Bob is survived by his wife Judy of the home, his daughters, Marcy (Josh) Johnson of Bolivar; Michelle (JW) McMath of Tuscarawas, his grandson, Jamison McMath, his two sisters who were very special to him, Julie (Ed) Shafer; Karen (Dan) Powell, sisters-in-law, Karen Hayes; Janet (Tooey) Henry, brothers-in-law, Curt (Becky) Griffiths;  John (Joann) Griffiths and many nieces and nephews. 

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Martha (Scott) Carlisle, his beloved son, Jason Carlisle, in-laws; Edwin and Roberta (Lind) Griffiths; brother and sister-in -law, Richard and Susan Carlisle, brothers-in-law; Daniel Griffiths, James Hayes and one nephew, Matthew Henry. 

The family would like to thank Hennis Care Center of Dover and Community Hospice of New Philadelphia.  The family would also like to invite family and friends to a Celebration of Life for Bob on May 4th, 2024, from 2pm-6pm at the Tuscarawas VFW, 421 North Main Street, Tuscarawas, Ohio 44682.  Please come and join us in remembering the life of Bob.
