Robert L. Yoder

Robert L. Yoder (Hammer-Head) age 63 of Baltic, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on December  9, 2023 surrounded by family after a brief illness.  He was born on May 21, 1960 in Millersburg, Ohio to the late Ammon and Anna Yoder of Baltic, Ohio. Fondly known to family and friends as Bob or Bobby, Robert grew up farming, eventually becoming a truck driver for 14 years. Robert had a passion for dairy farming where he dedicated the rest of his life. He feared nothing when it came to getting the job done and did not quit until the work was done. Some people called him the “cow-whisperer”. The cows always followed him around when he was in the barn, and he knew them all by name. Robert also had a passion for family. He loved camping, fishing, fires, playing cards, joking around and making memories. When he wasn’t working, he was with family telling wild stories about the “good ol’ days” or making up words to songs. He was also a good friend, willing to help and even give the shirt off his back to a stranger in need. He was a pay it forward kind of person. 

Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Eli W. Yoder and oldest grandchild, Shelby A. Spencer. 

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Beckie” Yoder to which he married August 8, 2008; their five children, Tara (Terry) Hopkins, Robert W. Yoder, Dante (Katie) Patterson, Tess Yohn and Stevhen (Katie) Risley; seven grandchildren, Casey Spencer, Stephanie (William) Cunningham, Harley Baker, Colson Baker, Jack Patterson, Jessee Napier and Joshua McNally; two brothers, David (Naomi) Yoder, Daniel (Kim) Yoder; sister, Miriam (Mike) Felton; thirteen nieces and nephews.
