Ronald Lee Whipkey

Ronald Lee Whipkey, 69, of Louisville, Ohio, passed away on September 2nd, 2022, following an extended illness. Ron was born in Canton, Ohio. Following his graduation from Lehman High School in 1970, he attended Kent State University, then served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years and was honorably discharged. Ron went on to pursue a career in Information Technology. He worked at The Hoover Company for many years as an I.T. Manager, then for several smaller companies as I.T. Manager before his retirement from Everhard Products in 2017.

In his spare time, Ron enjoyed spending time with his family, hobby farming, working in his workshop, listening to and playing music, reading science fiction, and riding his motorcycle. He seemed to know how to fix anything, and often credited his Grandpa Hoy Whipkey Sr. and his Uncle Don Smallwood for teaching him about farming and repairs of all kinds.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joan; his children, Resa (Brian) Bostaph and Martin (Kim) Whipkey; and his grandchildren Leah Whipkey and Austin Whipkey. He is also survived by his brother, Gregory Scott (Cathy) Whipkey and his sister, Debra (David) Kraft; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Larry Brockmeier of Pensacola, Florida; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janice and Dave Carlile of Flagstaff, Arizona; father, Hoy Whipkey Jr.; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Ron is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Hamrick.
