Russell Leroy Hammond passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side November 30, 2020. He was born May 4, 1936 to the late, Philo Lincoln Hammond and Mable Ulm in Marietta, Ohio. He graduated from Marietta high school and was employed at Republic Steel for 45 years when he retired. Besides being a talented artist, he was a wonderful and dedicated husband to his wife of 47 years. He was the best father anyone could ask for; grandpa to ten; great-grandpa “Russie” to 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and a great-great grandbaby, due in June. His sense of humor and his laugh will be missed by everyone! We will never forget the sacrifices that he made for his family.
In addition to his parents, Russell is preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon S (Burton); his oldest daughter, Traci L Crable; sons- in-law, John Fete Murray and Jesse M. Crable.
He will be forever missed by his daughters, Teri (Terry) Brown, Tami (John) Murray; son, Russell (Sandy) Hammond; and his little buddy Peewee “Peeps”, his pug.
A celebration of his life will be planned for this spring.
