Ruth E. Koenig
Ruth E. Koenig, (nee-Wade), 105, and long time resident of Columbia Station passed away Friday, October 9, 2015. She was born December 2, 1909 to the late Russell and Bessie Wade.
She was a homemaker who loved to bake, crochet and knit. Ruth was an avid reader of library books.
She and her late husband, Matt loved to square dance with friends. Ruth was also a member of the Columbia Station Women’s Auxiliary.
After Matt’s retirement, they sold their home and headed west, landing in Tuscon, AZ. She loved it there, making new friends along the way. She loved walking her dog in the desert, and her favorite place to eat was at McDonald’s. However, during the summer months, she always came home. In the mid 1990’s she moved back permanently.
She will be truly missed by her daughter, Carol Koch (the late Frank); grandmother of Debbie, Doreen, Donna and David, Dawn, Bruce and Brian; great-grandmother of Lauren, Lindsay and Logan, Jason and Garrhett, Brandon, Rachel, Sara, Katie and Kellie, Brian, Karyn and Chris; great-great grandmother of Madelyn, Zoey, Frankie and Charlie. Ruth was an Aunt and Great Aunt to many, Cheryl especially.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Matt, a daughter, Frances Heinrichs and a brother, Wendell.
There will be no services
