Ruth Elva Weeks

Ruth Elva Weeks (nee Tenwick), 98, passed away peacefully during the night in her home on Friday, June 4th, 2021.  Ruth was the loving wife of the late Lloyd Evans Weeks.  She was the mother of Marilyn (the late Bob) Johnston, Sharyl (Bill) Ginther, Lorrie (Tim) Reid, and Arlene (Tim) Strauch; the grandmother of Amanda Uphoff, John (Beth) Ginther, Blake Ginther (Tobi Foster), Virginia (Steve) Cunningham,  Tim Reid Jr., Rick (Liz) Strauch, Jeff (Lindsay) Strauch, and AJ (Tara) Strauch; the step grandmother of Jackie (Perry) Brown; and the great grandmother of 16.

Ruth was born in Cleveland, Ohio; graduated from Ohio Wesleyan College; taught high school English and continued tutoring when she retired from teaching; was President of the Teacher’s Union in North Canton, Ohio; received her P.H.D. From Kent State University; traveled extensively in the US and abroad; was an Elder in the Northminster Presbyterian Church in North Canton, Ohio and the Avon Lake Presbyterian Church in Avon Lake Ohio; and was Treasurer of College Club West in Rocky River, Ohio.  However, her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family.  She treated her entire family to a week at Sandbridge Beach in VA for 32 years; babysat her grandchildren frequently while also attending many of their birthdays along with other important events; and hosted yearly family parties for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.

Per her request, the family will be gathering together for one great celebration of her life!
