Shari Louise Guttman

Shari Louise Guttman died May 31, 2020 in Canton, Ohio after a long battle with cancer. She was born on March 27, 1953 in Akron, Ohio to Theobold and Jean Guttman. Shari was an avid cat lover from the time she was a child. She graduated from Firestone High School in 1971, where she was a member of the Acapella choir and the Madrigals. She attended The University of Akron, majoring in early childhood education. There was nothing that Shari enjoyed more than gathering her family and friends together to laugh and enjoy each other’s company. She truly was the life of the party. In 2002, Shari found her way to Alcoholics Anonymous, where she made many lasting friendships and worked to mentor other women struggling with addiction. Her memory lives on in all the lives she has touched. Her love of life, music, and passion for helping others will be deeply missed.

Shari is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Jon and Paul Guttman. She is survived by her nephew, Arlo (Ruthe) Guttman; niece, Sarah (Nick) Matteson; great-nieces, Emma and Lily Matteson; and great-nephew, Ronald Colbetzor. She will also be missed by sisters-in-law, Sue Guttman of Stow, and Joann Guttman of Wilmington, North Carolina; special friends, Carolyn Garner, Tracie Biggie, and so many others that she met along her journey, too numerous to mention.
