Stephen (Steve) R. Adams, born August 22, 1938 in Uniontown, PA, passed away September 8, 2024. He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Judith Vincent Adams of Strongsville, OH, step-son Christopher O’Hare of Streetsboro, OH, step-daughters Victoria O’Hare of Sheffield Lake, OH and Kerrin McGill of Akron, OH, grandchildren, Matt McGill (Tessa) of Las Vegas, NV and Amy McGill of Medina, OH. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Harris of Garrettsville, OH and Lee Anne Wilson of Palm Springs, CA and his siblings John, Frank, Joseph, Mary Ann, Andrew, Alfred, Edward and Raymond.

Steve was the seventh of nine children born to Andrew and Anna Adams of Uniontown, PA. He moved to Cleveland in 1956 to work for Alcoa and attend college, obtaining a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Western Reserve University in 1963 and an Executive MBA from Cleveland State University in 1981.

Steve worked on many industrial, commercial and residential building projects around the United States. He was heavily involved in planning and designing airport projects including a major expansion of the Cleveland Hopkins Airport terminal in the early 1970’s, while an associate with R. L. Bowen & Associates. While with Dalton, Dalton & Little, he played a key role in feasibility studies for a proposed Jetport in Lake Erie. Steve worked for the Austin Company in several locations for 22 years. The final ten years of his architectural career were spent with the Facilities Department, University of Maryland, College Park, MD, managing a staff of architects, interior designers and engineers. He retired in 2004 and returned to the Cleveland area.

Steve had an enthusiastic approach to life that he shared with family and friends. He had a passion for photography and won several prizes for his outstanding photos. He also loved gardening, traveling, and sharing his Christmas tradition of attending as many versions of The Christmas Carol as he could find. Steve was cherished by his family and will be dearly missed. A celebration of his life will be planned for a later date.
