Steve was born to Alice Marie Corcoran Foley and Joseph M Foley in Boston, Mass. and died March 26, 2024 in Cleveland, Ohio. Steve moved with family from Boston to South Orange, New Jersey and then Cleveland where he attended St. Ann’s Elementary, and St. Ignatius High School. At the College of the Holy Cross, Steve loved being a dorm director. He went to Case Western Reserve Law School. As a lawyer, he represented people with long term asbestos exposure. He also worked as
a bookseller and provided home caregiving services. Steve hosted epic BBQs and dinner parties. He opened his home to people who were facing hospitalization. His love of reading was contagious. He was movie buff, sports fan and great gift giver. He enjoyed solving the worlds’ problems at Tommy’s with close friends and relished his friendships with old school friends. He had a wonderful way of carefully considering his thoughts before giving reacting or responding. He was funny and kind. Steve experienced many challenges in his life yet dealt with his many medical problems gracefully, retaining his humor and wit.Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Joseph, his sister, Susan and nephew, Joseph.
Steve is left behind by twin, Mara, sister, Celia, brother-in-law, Bob Lohr, brother, George, nieces, Anna Nishman and Emma Lohr, nephew, Noah Lohr and many lifelong friends.
Steve’s last home was at Jennings Long Term Care and the Foley family is very thankful for the staff and volunteers who assisted him.
