Steve Combs

June 17, 1959 — November 10, 2024

God closed Steve’s story yesterday, November 10th, 2024, and called him home. Steve was loved by many but especially his family Karen, Shvonne, her husband Mike and granddaughter Liliana.

Steve was born on June 17th, 1959, in Vincennes, Indiana to the late Marion and Mary (nee Ballard) Combs. Steve grew up in Lodi where he graduated from Cloverleaf in 1977. Steve met the love of his life Karen Rummell Kimmell on April fools’ day 1979 and they were married October 6th, 1979. Karen wanted a baby by Christmas of 1980, and they were blessed with their daughter Shvonne on December 9th, two days before Karen’s birthday and within the deadline. Steve loved singing and was a member of the All-Ohio State Fair Choir in 1976 and loved singing in the church choir and cantering at Christ the King in Lodi, Atonement Lutheran in Orlando and St. Matthew in Medina. Steve also loved karaoke and sang everywhere he could, Steve and Karen even owned their own karaoke business before moving to Orlando. Steve was also involved in acting, having had the lead role in his senior year at Cloverleaf and being in several Show Biz productions in Medina. Steve enjoyed playing golf and watching baseball and football.

Steve was in retail sales and management for over 21 years and worked in advertising and automative sales. He was general manager at Pine Valley golf club in Wadsworth from 2018-19 and until cancer forced him to stop working, he was at the warehouse with Discount Drug Mart. Steve had known Jesus as his savior for many years but became a devoted follower in his last years and loved his Heartland Community Church family very much and loved volunteering in numerous ways.

Steve was married to Karen for 45 years and she survives along with his daughter Shvonne (Mike) Davis, his beloved granddaughter Liliana and his four-legged girl, Molly. Steve is also survived by his sister Dolores Breese, brothers Norman Sartor, David (Connie) Combs, and Jay (Kim) Combs plus his many nieces and nephews, great friend and brother John (Anita) Gehring, and family Bill and Sheri Titcombe. He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers, Robert and Michael, and his sister Pamela Prestia, brother-in-law Warren (Bud) Breese and Dominic Prestia, mother-in-law Irene Kimmell.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Heartland Community Church at a later date. Condolences and special memories of Steve can be shared with his family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
