Terri Ann Newell

October 9, 1964 — July 5, 2024

Akron

Terri Ann Newell (née Stout) passed away peacefully on the evening of July 5, 2024 with Jim, her husband and love of her life, by her side. Terri was a fighter and battled courageously for decades against the rare condition, Familial Adenomatous Polyposis and it’s effects, which contributed to the polyps and cancer that ravaged her body. While this broke her body, it never broke her spirit and all who knew her knew she would tell you exactly what was on her mind at any given time. She had a fierce love for the Indians (don’t you dare call them the Guardians) and is in heaven right now showing off her Chief Wahoo tattoo.

Terri and Jim loved an adventure, whether it was pizza from Wooster or a very special trip to Hawaii. While their time together was not as long as they would have liked, they both agreed that it was far better to have loved each other for even a short time then never to have loved each other at all.

Terri leaves behind her husband James Jr.; daughters, Stephanie (Brian) and Rachel (Rob), stepson Dylan (Hali) and stepdaughter, Kyra; grandchildren, Dan, Lily, JJ and Atticus; siblings, Julia, Terry (Debra) and Stephen; and her beloved dog, Rupert. Terri’s H-60 coworkers at the Cleveland Clinic became like family to her and she never wanted to stop working, even when her body was failing her. So many others loved and feel the loss of Terri, we will all cherish our memories of her.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents, Terry Dean and Linda as well as her sister, Pamela.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 20 at 11am at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 4022 Johnson Rd, Norton, OH 44203.

We will gather to remember and celebrate Terri’s life on Sunday, July 21 from 12:30-3pm at the Knights of Columbus, 2055 Glenmount Ave, Akron, OH 44319.
