Thomas Earl Anderson

December 1, 1946 — March 6, 2025

Carrollton

Thomas Earl Anderson, known to many as "Dick" or "Tucker," passed away on March 6, 2025, in Carrollton, Ohio, at the age of 78.

Born on December 1, 1946, in Steubenville, Ohio, Thomas developed a deep appreciation for history and education. He graduated from Springfield High School in Bergholz, Ohio, before earning his Bachelor of Arts in Education from the College of Steubenville (now the Franciscan University of Steubenville). His passion for learning led him to a fulfilling career as an educator and coach. For most of his 31-year career, he taught eighth-grade American History, sharing his love for the subject with generations of students who admired and respected him.

A devoted sports fan, Thomas cheered enthusiastically for the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Guardians, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Ohio State Buckeyes. He had a deep interest in American history, particularly the history of indigenous people and the Civil War. He also enjoyed comedy movies and stand-up performances that brought laughter into his life. Music was another passion of his—he especially loved Elvis Presley and Bruno Mars.

Thomas is survived by his son, Daniel Brock Anderson, as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay Robellard Anderson, his parents, Thomas Cletus Anderson and Twila Audrey Jones Anderson; and his sisters, Darla Dee Anderson Boggs and Marsha Jean Anderson Baker.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him—his family, friends, students, and colleagues—who were touched by his kindness and dedication. May his legacy continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. Condolences and special memories of Thomas can be shared with his family online at www.heritagecremationsociety.com
