Thomas “Tom” C. Sellars

Thomas “Tom” C. Sellars, of Akron, OH, born May 25, 1945, passed away on April 19, 2023.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Sellars,  son, Andrew Sellars and grandson, Razy Sellars.

Tom leaves behind his wife, Christine Sellars; daughter, Rebecca “Beckie” Velka; sisters, Margaret (Fred) Mosser and Bonnie (Johnny) Childs; granddaughter, Taylor (Corey Smith) Clarke; grandsons, Riley and Rory Sellars, Danta Smith; great-grandson, Zaylen Smith and great-granddaughter, Zeila Smith.

He loved spending time with family and friends.  He graduated from Kenmore High School in 1964. After graduating he joined the USA Navy and survived the war in Vietnam.  He retired from the Navy after 21 years of service. He worked for the Akron Board of Education and retired after 33 years of service. He loved talking to anyone and everyone he met no matter where he was or who it was. Strangers he talked to would become a friend.  He will be missed by all.  I know he is at peace and with his Lord and Savior.

Cremation service will be held on April 29, 2023, at First Assembly of God, 1175 West Market St., Akron, OH 44311. Family and friends gathering will be at 11am and service will follow at noon.
