Vance was born in Akron, Ohio on December 27, 1951. He lost his battle with lung cancer on January 1, 2024. Vance is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil W Mick and Betty (Boylen) Mick; sisters, Vickie Mick (Jacobs) and Valerie Mick (Booth). He leaves behind his brothers, Virgil (Sue) W Mick II and Victor (Joanie) Mick. He is survived by his children, Jammie (Kimmie) L Mick, Victor (Barbara) W Mick, and Veronica Mick. He also leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.
Vance graduated from Ellet high school in 1970, where he spent most of his time wrestling, playing football, and baseball. After high school he joined the United States Army and became a gunnery Sargent in the 145th infantry. He was immensely proud of his service to the country. After he was honorably discharged from the service, he co-founded AB Comfort Heating and Cooling, with his father and brother. During his free time, he spent countless hours coaching wrestling and baseball for all the local children. He led many All-Star Teams to the championship game, and always had an open door with the neighborhood kids.
