Virginia Lee (Lloyd) DeLong, 84 of East Canton, received her angel wings on December 26, 2020. She went peacefully with her daughters by her side, holding her hands, and listening to “Amazing Grace” and “All the way my Savior leads me.” Virginia struggled with recurring Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and passed from complications due to her Cancer. We were blessed with twenty extra years of love, adventure, and memories. Virginia was a member of St. Paul’s Community Christian Church where she served on Consistory, God’s Team, and was a member of the Bereavement Committee. Pastor Ed Dickerhoof was a dear friend to Virginia, and she enjoyed the pancake breakfasts. Virginia was born on July 29, 1936 to William Norris and Edith (Long) Lloyd. Virginia had some of her most wonderful times and adventures with her best friends, her sister Karen and Ceccy Mossgrove. She truly loved them very much. She also loved her 80
th
birthday gift to herself, her red “ladybug” slingshot! Many awesome rides with Ceccy, family, and the gang that included her in their Thursday night rides. Mom enjoyed their friendship and dubbed the group “Ron’s way or the Highway.” Thank you for giving her laughter and freedom. She also adored her neighbors Jonah and Domynik for always making her smile and laugh. Virginia was also the best “make it and take it” Grandma. She taught her family how to live life.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Robert R. DeLong in 2006 and her grandson, Jason DeLong, in 2017.

A special thanks to granddaughter, Adriana for stepping in professionally, so Virginia was able to stay peacefully at home with her family that she loved. A celebration of Virginia’s life will be held at St Paul’s Community Christian Church in East Canton on a later date.
