Wendell Walton Landis, Sr. born February 2, 1933, passed away July 6, 2024. Son of Willard W. and Goldie G. Wendell Landis Married Norma Jean Green on February 2, 1952 and was married for 67 years until her passing on August 26, 2019. They would have six children: Douglas M. Landis, of Massillon, Ohio, Barbara J. Landis Phillips (Edward), of Port Washington, Ohio, Leonard Landis (Sheryl), of Port Washington, Ohio, Wendell Landis, Jr. (Kathy), of Newcomerstown, Ohio, Jerry Landis (Don), of Riverview, Florida, Sue McNutt, of Newcomerstown, Ohio. Wendell and Norma were blessed with 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Wendell served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Wendell and Norma were proud Jehovah's Witnesses and loved spreading his word. Their life was filled with love of Jehovah, family and friends.
Wendell loved his wife above all else, and enjoyed traveling, tinkering, singing and playing country music, especially the guitar. Wendell drove semi-truck all his working life, enjoying every mile! He was a seasoned fisherman, enjoying the sport with his children and grandchildren for decades. Everyone could hear Wendell before seeing him because of his beautiful whistling, always happy and joyous to be around.
