William V Blake

William (“Bill”) V. Blake (85) passed away on December 27th, 2023 after a long illness. Bill was born on June 25th, 1938 in Youngstown, Ohio to Paul C. and Anne L. Blake. He was raised in Boardman, Ohio and graduated from Boardman High school in 1956. After high school, he briefly attended the University of Pittsburgh, served as an EMT, and worked as a sales rep; however, his true passions were trivia (his nickname was “the answer man”), old movies, fishing, golf, and doing crossword puzzles.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy, his parents, his brothers, Rich and Phil, and his son, David Shaffer.

He is survived by his children, Curt Shaffer (Lynda), Bethany Killian (fiancé Chris), and Shannon Blake (Sean Tully), his sister, Carrie Scott (Don), his grandchildren, Chloe Killian and Nolan and Elliott Blake-Tully, and his many nieces and nephews.

His family would like to thank the caregivers at Holy Family Home & Hospice and his friend and helper, Marlynda for providing him with excellent care and comfort in his final days. Per Bill’s wishes, there will be no services held.
