William James Waldecker, 74, of Columbia Station, passed away unexpectedly at home on February 11, 2022.
Jim was the beloved husband of 28 years to the late Sharon; loving Father of Joseph (Nikki) Waldecker; stepfather to Jennifer (Dan) Miller, Dale (Martha) Abram; caring grandfather to Ava and Teagan Waldecker, Jacob (Mary), Nolan (Maddy) Miller, Mitchell and Henry Abram; Cherished son to the late William and Tillie Waldecker. Devoted brother to Nell (Mike) Ruebensaal and Sue Waldecker. He was an uncle, great uncle, friend, and mentor to many.
Jim “Wally” was born to William and Tillie Waldecker in Lorain, Ohio. After Jim graduated from Keystone High School he went on to study Education at BGSU, and received his master’s degree from Ashland University.
He was a teacher and coach at Columbia Local Schools for 35 years. He was honored to be named to the Lorain County, Keystone and Columbia Hall of Fame.
After retirement, Jim enjoyed attending local sporting events and traveling the US and Canada. He even joined a “book club” that he looked forward to going to every day.
There will be a celebration of life on Sunday, March 6th from 12-4 p.m. at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 27190 Royalton Rd, Columbia Station, Ohio. If you have a photo of Wally please email it to: inmemoryofwally@gmail.com to be displayed at the celebration of life.
