William L. Hagen
William L. Hagen, 74 of Portage Lakes, peacefully passed away on June 30, 2016. He was born January 17, 1942 to his late parents Oscar and Bess Hagen.
Bill was a graduate of Central Hower in 1961. Served in the U.S. Army Reserves and came back to Akron, OH to start his life with Janet. He worked at BF Goodrich and for the City of Akron Water Dept. where then he retired. After his retirement he continued to enjoy his family. To all that knew him he would tell stories and talk for hours about his cars, watching John Wayne movies, and to finally see his love for the “CAVS” win the Championship.
Bill will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 50 yrs. Janet L. Hagen. He was so proud of all four of his children, Bill Hagen (Cherie), Jeff Hagen (Michelle), Shari Kaser (Gary), and Kris Hagen (Rick). His grandchildren who brought a smile to his face, Courtney, Justin, Jared, Jessica, Ethan, and Haley, and many nieces and nephews. He also will be missed by his second family “The Hoods”.
The family would like to thank Parkview Cancer Center, Dr. A. Haas, Summit Pulmonary Doctors, Barberton Hospital and Pebble Creek for taking great care of Bill.
Bill is at peace now and a Celebration of his life will be held July 8, 2016 from 5-9 at the Turkeyfoot Sportsman Club 4551 Dustys Rd. Portage Lakes Ohio 44319. In lieu of flowers please make donations to South Summit Sports Scholarship Program. Condolences and special memories can be shared online at
