William D Shimko

William D. Shimko, age 69, of Canton lost his battle to live after a long and exhausting journey Monday, September 16, 2024. He was born in Owosso, Michigan and moved to Canton, Ohio as a child. Bill was a 1974 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School of Louisville, Ohio. Bill is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Shimko; his mother, Marie (Witchell) Shimko; mother-in-law, Adeline (Peffer) Hacha; sister-in-law, Jo-lieana Hacha; and grandson, Jacob Davis. Bill enjoyed fishing, racing and spending time with his family. 

Survivors include: wife, Susan Shimko of the home; sister, Diane; children, William and Joseph Shimko; step-sons, Shawn Leach and Joseph Davis; in-laws, Judy Oddi and Chris Kuestner, Margaret and Rocco Rotunno, Gail Coleman, Joseph Hacha IV; numerous nieces and nephews; 11 grandchildren. 

A special thanks to the administration, nurses, doctors, and caregivers at Special Select Hospital of Canton, for your passionate loving care of Bill and family. You were all awesome!
